Responsibilities

The Monroe County Assessor’s Office is responsible for administering fair and timely assessment of all real property in Monroe County, IL. This includes:

  • Observing and abiding by the Illinois Department of Revenue and Illinois State Statues
  • Documenting finished evaluations for the County’s Board of Review to aid in:
    • Timely tax computation
    • Billing
  • Providing accurate taxpayer information and assessments through mail correspondence and publication
  • Answering questions involving property calculation records.

​Monroe County assesses real property on a quadrennial basis.
